Ryan Dzingel was one of the four free agents to leave the Columbus Blue Jackets this summer. He was originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the 7th round of the 2011 draft. Known for his speed and his deadly shot, Dzingel was traded to Columbus at the deadline last year as a rental, as he helped the Blue Jackets win their first ever series over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Dzingel signed in Carolina in July for 3,375,000 per year for 2 years. When he came to Carolina he stated that it was an area his fiance and he both felt was a nice area to potentially start a family.
