Over the past year or so, relocation rumors have clouded over the Carolina Hurricanes, giving fans fear that, one day, this team will depart from its Raleigh, North Carolina home. Don Waddell says fear not.
Carolina Hurricanes president Don Waddell talked with the Raleigh Sports Club on Wednesday, and he addressed several topics, including that of relocation.
“This franchise eventually will get sold, but it’s not leaving Raleigh,” Waddell said. He noted that Canes Owner Peter Karmanos Jr.’s selling of the team is a succession plan, meaning the team will not move, but instead, will stay in Raleigh.
