A win over one of the top teams in the NHL gave the Carolina Hurricanes their 15th win of the season, and allowed them to gain some ground in the Metropolitan Division. The Canes can thank goalie Cam Ward for putting them in position to fight for a wildcard position in the Eastern Conference right now.
Since Nov. 10, Ward is carrying a record of 6-0-1. Compare that to Scott Darling’s record of 8-10-6 on the season, and it’s easy to see why Ward gives the Canes a great chance to win right now. His save percentage is also more than 10 points ahead of Darling’s.
