Carolina Hurricanes Buyout Defenseman James Wisniewski

The Carolina Hurricanes continue to shock me. It was announced today (June 30, 2016) just a day before the free agency frenzy begins, that the Carolina Hurricanes bought out defenseman James Wisniewski’s contract. Yes, like most, it was a shock to me. It’s not like we need to free up some cap space. Since James Wisniewski had a No movement clause (NMC), he was able to have the choice to skip waivers and was able to go straight to being bought out. Personally I am not sure why Ron Francis did this but he has to have something up his sleeve for tomorrow.
