Carolina Hurricanes: Brock McGinn Avoids Arbitration

Brock McGinn was scheduled to have his arbitration hearing earlier today in Toronto. The reported ask from McGinn’s camp was 2.7 million while the Carolina Hurricanes were wanting closer 1.75 million. Before the hearing could take place, the two sides agreed on a two year $4.2 million contract extension that will pay Brock $1,900,000 in 2019-2020 and $2,300,000 in 2020-21.

The 25 year old left winger was originally drafted by the Hurricanes 47th overall in 2012. Appearing in 240 NHL games McGinn has 76 points, 36 goals and 40 assists, while averaging just under 14 minutes a game.
