Carolina Hurricanes Bring Back Tim Gleason as a Special Assistant

On Thursday, news broke that the Carolina Hurricanes will be bringing back defenseman Tim Gleason, but not as a player.

Head coach Bill Peters explained after morning skate that the 727-game NHL veteran will join the organization as a “special assistant”, and while this role has yet to be defined, he will likely spend some time in the development of the club’s young blue liners.

“That’s going to be defined. Glease is going to help us out in some different areas and work with our young D-men a little bit. That will all get defined, and I am sure that there will be a press release coming at some point once they get the details of it.
