The Carolina Hurricanes and Brad Malone can take a big sigh of relief on Saturday after word came from the NHL Department of Player Safety that the player will not face any supplemental discipline from the NHL following a controversial hit on Friday night in Raleigh.
Nick Foligno went on to leave the game and was placed on injured reserve this morning.
A lot of controversy came from the hit, both in the game and after it. Brandon Dubinsky dropped the gloves just minutes after the hit with Brad Malone to defend his fallen captain.
