The Hurricanes got the ball rolling under a minute into period one. Pittsburgh attempted to move the puck out of their own zone, but Rask went in hard on the forcheck, and Skinner forced a turnover, which resulted in Di Giuseppe getting a great chance in the slot which he capitalized on.
