The Carolina Hurricanes Acquired forward Kris Versteeg, Joakim Nordstrom, and a 2017 3rd round pick from the Chicago Blackhawks. GM Ron Francis got a good deal, only having to give up Checkers forward Dennis Robertson, 6th round draft pick/unsigned free agent defenseman Jake Massie, and a 5th round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft.
Versteeg is a 29 year old forward and a two time stanley cup winner with the Blackhawks in 2010 and 2015. He will add great leadership to an otherwise young team and will have a positive impact on the younger players of the team.
