If the Carolina Hurricanes are to deal away a valuable asset from the team, they need to make sure they get something promising in return, not just a hope for something good. There’s been a lot of talk surrounding the Canes acquiring a big name scorer at the 2018 Trade Deadline.
As nice as something like that would be to witness as a Canes fan, they need to do it right. The biggest needs include a first line center, veteran defenseman, and a high-level goal scorer. Carolina could knock out two birds with one stone if they manage to acquire a player capable of playing at the first line center spot, and scoring at a pace of around 30 goals per season (obviously it’s nice if they’d get more).
