Deciphering the goalie situation for the Carolina Hurricanes at this moment is a difficult task. However, the Canes had their fair share of solid goaltenders in the full history of the franchise, since first moving to North Carolina in 1997 to replace the Hartford Whalers.
But, this list does include goalies for the Whalers too, dating all the way back to 1980 with Al Smith and John Garrett.
By far, the longest tenured goalie for the Canes is one that is still on the roster now, Cam Ward. We’ll dive more into the career of Ward thus far a little bit later.
