The Carolina Hurricanes stepped up their game a bit but lost a tight contest to the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 on Saturday night in Vancouver.
Antti Raanta played well to start the game but let in a couple of key goals later on to pick up the loss. He made 20 saves on 24 shots.
The Canes played better in this one but still lost too many important one-on-one battles to earn the win.
Martin Necas was beaten directly in front of the net as he mis-timed his defense on an easy goal by Ilya Mikheyev. Early in the third period, Sebastian Aho was out-muscled behind his net by Elias Pettersson, who would score the game-winner.
