RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Joakim Nordstrom on a two-year contract. The deal will pay Nordstrom $1.25 million during the 2016-17 season and $1.3 million in 2017-18.
“Joakim took a major step forward in his career last season,” said Francis. “We expect him to continue to grow as both a player and a leader on our team.”
Nordstrom, 24, established NHL career highs in games played (71), goals (10), assists (14) and points (24) during the 2015-16 season with the Hurricanes.
