The Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday announced that forwards Martin Necas and Julien Gauthier, and defenseman Haydn Fleury and Jake Bean would be on their their roster for the 2017 NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Mich.
Necas was the Canes’ first-round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, and Fleury, Gauthier and Bean all are former first-rounders.
In addition to Necas, several members of Carolina’s 2017 draft class will play in the tournament, including Morgan Geekie (third round), Stelio Mattheos (third round) and Brendan De Jong (sixth round).
The tournament, hosted annually by the Detroit Red Wings, will be held Sept.
