RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Sergey Tolchinsky from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Tolchinsky will be available to play on Thursday night, when the Hurricanes host the New York Rangers.
Tolchinsky, 21, ranks fourth among Checkers skaters this season with 32 points (11g, 21a) in 65 games played. The Moscow native is in his first full professional season, after signing with the Hurricanes as an undrafted free agent on Aug.
