RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Ryan Murphy from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Hurricanes have also reassigned defenseman Jaccob Slavin (SLAY-vihn) to Charlotte.
Murphy, 22, netted a goal and earned two assists (3 points) in two games with Charlotte this past weekend. He had been assigned to the AHL after being cleared of symptoms from a concussion, which he suffered in Carolina’s game against Philadelphia on Nov.
