RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned forwards Derek Ryan and Sergey Tolchinsky to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Checkers host the Texas Stars tonight and are currently holding one of the final playoff positions in the AHL’s Western Conference.
Ryan, 29, made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes on March 1 at New Jersey, and has netted two goals in five games for Carolina this season.
