Governor Roy Cooper announced a new Executive Order today stating that starting Friday, March 26 at 5 p.m., various COVID-19 restrictions will be loosened around the state due to the stabilization of the virus’ infection rate and exponential growth of the percentage of vaccinated adults.
One of the loosened restrictions included raising the capacity of indoor sporting arenas to 50%, up from the 15% allowed capacity that was put into effect March 2.
Due to this new order, the Carolina Hurricanes put out a statement saying that they are, “interested in increasing capacity, and will do so safely, following all local regulations and applicable National Hockey League protocols.
