The Hurricanes were one of the teams who got in on today’s waiver wire frenzy that included names like P.A. Parenteau, Teemu Pulkkinen, Mike Condon, Seth Griffith, and a few others.
The move made by Carolina was to claim defenseman Klas Dahlbeck off waivers from the Arizona Coyotes. Dahlbeck is a native of Sweden, is 25 years of age, and measures in at 6’2” and 195 lbs.
In his brief NHL career, Dahlbeck has skated in 94 games while tallying 3 goals and 12 points overall. He will likely not take on a major role this season, but he does serve as a nice addition to ensure that younger players like Haydn Fleury and Roland McKeown won’t have to be forced into high-leverage NHL minutes before they’re ready for it.
