Canes Announce 'Learn to Play' Initiative

RALEIGH, NC – The National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes today announced that they have teamed up with the NHL to bring a new Learn to Play First Goal initiative to the Triangle. The Hurricanes First Goal initiative will provide children ages 4 through 8 with hockey equipment as well as the opportunity to enjoy seven on-ice, instructional hockey sessions.

Participants enrolled in the program will be introduced to the game of hockey by Hurricanes alumni and will receive brand-new, Hurricanes-branded equipment, including a helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, pants, shin pads, socks, skates, jersey, equipment bag and stick.
