Canes Agree to Terms with Derek Ryan

RALEIGH, NCRon Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with center Derek Ryan on a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Ryan $600,000 on the NHL level, or $300,000 on the American Hockey League (AHL) level, with a guarantee of $350,000.

“Derek is a high-character, veteran player who has contributed offensively at every level he has played,” said Francis. “He was a leader for Charlotte last season and played well when called up to the Hurricanes.
