RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Brendan Woods on a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will play Woods $650,000 on the NHL level, or $80,000 on the American Hockey League (AHL) level in 2016-17.
Woods, 24, skated in five games with the Hurricanes in 2015-16, while spending the majority of the season with Carolina’s AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers. With Charlotte, the Humboldt, Sask., native scored nine goals and earned 11 assists (20 points) in 59 games in 2015-16, his third full season with the team.
