The Carolina Hurricanes faced some unlucky bounces as they dropped a game to the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-3 in a shootout on Tuesday night in Columbus.
This is the second time this season the Canes lost in a shootout to the Jackets, their only losses of this type all season.
The Blue Jackets scored two goals directly off Carolina miscues.
On their second goal, Brent Burns bumped into Pyotr Kochetkov, keeping the goalie from full access to making a save on Karil Marchenko’s second goal of the night.
Dmitri Korovkov scored the game tying goal in the third period when his shot bounced in the net off of Seth Jarvis.
