Klas Dahlbeck’s season went about as expected. He was signed to another one year deal last summer as Ron Francis wanted to lock up a solid 7th defenseman while meeting expansion draft requirements, anticipating that a younger guy would come into camp ready to take on a role in the bottom pairing. That player was Haydn Fleury, and Dahlbeck saw most of his action when Fleury was sitting in the press box.
Dahlbeck played a sound defensive game when given his opportunities, making the best of the extra defenseman role and even gaining compliments from Bill Peters on numerous occasions.
