About Last Night: A Perfect Storm

During the Carolina Hurricanes’ three game losing streak, there were noticeable trends holding the team back. The special teams were atrocious, the goaltenders were not outdueling their opposition in net, and the 5 on 5 play dropped off.

For a team that lacks the talent level of the elite clubs, the Hurricanes must outwork their opponents nightly in order to have a legitimate shot at winning. But they also need those three things mentioned above to come together and gel in order to get past the best of the best. Over the past three games they were unable to do that and things were on the border of going very awry very quickly.
