The Carolina Hurricanes got the season started out on the right note Thursday night in PNC Arena, beating the New York Islanders 6-3 in a thorough victory.
The Canes went down 1-0 early but took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission, and battled throughout the lineup to beat their division foes.
