It wasn't pretty at times, particularly in a fairly one-sided second period, but the Calgary Flames kicked off the 2015 Young Stars Classic tournament with a 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets prospects at the South Okanagan Event Centre in Penticton earlier tonight.
THE RUNDOWN
The Flames carried the play for the majority of the first period. Bryce van Brabant opened the scoring about five minutes into the first period, with Tyson Baillie garnering an assist. The lead was doubled soon after when Ryan Lomberg walked in from the side boards and beat Connor Hellebuyck to make it 2-0, with an assist to Andrew Mangiapane.
