It’s about time somebody tipped their hat to the police.
After several years of growing mistrust in police services around North America it’s high time somebody took the opportunity to reinforce the fact our men and women who serve and protect are to be admired, not questioned.
Showing the type of leadership symbolic of the community leaders the Calgary Flames are, the team has decided to honour the Calgary Police Service by anointing the team’s hardest worker with a black CPS cowboy hat after every win.
Much like the Flames did for several years with the fireman’s helmet, the coveted hat is proudly worn for post-game interviews, as Chad Johnson did following Tuesday’s overtime win.
