An entire NHL-sized rink full of fans knew he had been traded but the Edmonton Oil Kings power forward had to wait until the end of the game to find out.
The Calgary Flames acquired Pollock’s NHL rights from the Dallas Stars at the trade deadline in a deal that also brought Finn Jyrki Jokipakka and a second-rounder to the Stampede City for veteran blueliner Kris Russell.
Pollock’s Oil Kings were battling the top-ranked Victoria Royals in a rare Monday matinee when the deal went down.
