Stockton Heat forward Jakob Pelletier scored his team’s first goal of the 2022 Calder Cup Playoffs just over 12 minutes into Game 1 of their Pacific Division semifinal series against the Bakersfield Condors.
With Juuso Valimaki serving a holding penalty, Pelletier beat Condors goaltender Stuart Skinner on a shorthanded breakaway to give the Heat a 1–0 lead over Bakersfield at the 12:32 mark of the first period.
Glenn Gawdin picked up the lone assist on Pelletier’s first career AHL post-season goal. The Calgary Flames’ 2019 first-round draft pick finished second on the Heat with 62 points in 66 games as a rookie in 2021–22.
