Wearing both an “A” and the flaming “C” on his chest, Calgary Flames star Johnny Gaudreau scored in overtime of Game 7 against the Dallas Stars to put his team into the second round of the playoffs.
After Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger made an initial stop on Elias Lindholm, Gaudreau picked up the puck in the corner and fired a shot that beat Oettinger over his shoulder to give the Flames a 3–2 overtime victory.
Gaudreau’s goal came on the Flames’ 67th shot of the game — a new franchise record in the playoffs.
