Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau scored on a rare playoff penalty shot to put his team up 2–0 over the Dallas Stars during the third period of Game 4.
The referees in Dallas awarded Gaudreau a penalty shot after he was hooked on a breakaway at the 7:47 mark of the final frame.
The 28-year-old winger swung wide to the left before cutting back to the middle and sliding a backhand shot through the wickets of Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger.
Gaudreau’s ninth career playoff goal gave the Flames their first multi-goal lead of the series against Dallas.
