The wait is finally over for Blake Coleman.
The 30-year-old Calgary Flames winger scored his first goal since Oct. 28 early in the second period of his team’s game against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
With Calgary trailing Anaheim by a 1–0 score, the Flames broke in on a 3-on-2 rush. Trevor Lewis flipped the puck toward a streaking Sean Monahan, who deftly managed to deflect the puck over to a wide-open Coleman on the left side.
Coleman one-timed Monahan’s pass by Ducks goaltender John Gibson to knot the score at 1–1. Lewis picked up the secondary helper on Coleman’s fourth goal of the season, which came at the 3:49 mark of the second period.
