U.S. playing the way Canada should have

They say we’re alike, so similar.

But not on Saturday in Helsinki. Oh, no.

It was a quarterfinal extravaganza to remember — or forget — for North America’s two entries at the world junior championship.

Canada stomached hockey’s version of a turbulent flight inside Hartwall Arena. Across town, inside Helsinki Ice Hall, the U.S. dusted of the bulldozer and went to work.

Starting at 11 a.m. ET, Canada traded leads with Finland, a team decidedly better suited for a quarter-final goal fest than its foe. Canada lost, 6-5, drooping to a sixth-place finish in the 10-team tournament.
