A prominent TV executive is hoping to turn NHLers into pretty boys.
He'd rather they look like models than hockey players.
NBC Sports chairman Mark Lazarus wants to change the game's image, not by eliminating diving nor fighting.
His “wish”? Force players to “stop growing beards in the postseason,” he told the Chicago Tribune.
“Let's get their faces out there,” Lazarus added. “Let's talk about how young and attractive they are. What model citizens they are. (Hockey players) truly are one of a kind among professional athletes.
“I know it's a tradition and superstition, but I think (the beards do) hurt recognition.
