The trial of two men, accused of stealing millions of dollars from NHL players and other investors, heard closing arguments from the prosecutor on Thursday in a New York courtroom.
Phil Kenner and Tommy Constantine, alleged to have conned players such as Michael Peca, Joe Juneau and Bryan Berard, are facing wire fraud, money laundering and other charges as the case will likely go to a jury sometime next week, according to the New York Daily News.
"They promised the hockey players, John Kaiser, Ethel Kaiser everything," Assistant U.S. Attorney James Miskiewicz told the jury, referring to the retired police officer and his mother, who are also alleged victims.
