Trek to world junior a treat for Canadians

HELSINKI - Forget skydiving or bungee-jumping. When Larry Bartlett contemplated all the things he wanted to do after he retired, seeing Canada win gold at the world junior championship was at the top of his list.

“It was a bucket-list thing,” said Bartlett, who is from Newfoundland. “After 20 years of growing up and watching junior hockey on Boxing Day, I said: ‘When I can I will.’ Two years ago, I came over with my son to Malmo, Sweden and I had a great experience. So I thought I’d come back to Finland with my cousin.”

Bartlett and his cousin are hardly the only ones who have made the trek to Helsinki this year.
