Top NHL draft prospect Auston Matthews may be out of the North American media storm but he is still making news in Switzerland.
Matthews, a centre who many expect to be drafted first overall next summer, didn’t play for the Zurich Lions Friday against the Kloten Flyers after suffering an undisclosed upper-body injury a week ago. He was hurt Oct. 23 against Fribourg-Gotteron but played in a Zurich win over SCL Tigers two days later.
“It was during a puck battle when he did fall head-first into the wall,” Central Scouting’s Thomas Roost said on the NHL’s website.
