This coming May is the 40th anniversary of the Atlanta Flames moving to Calgary. To commemorate this occasion, we’re counting down the Top 40 Calgary Flames in history.
Coming in at #22 is Paul Reinhart.
It’s almost unfair to compare Reinhart to actual defensemen, because his style of play basically made him a fourth forward. A fantastic skater, he was drafted in the first round and jumped right into the NHL during Atlanta’s final season.
Moving north with the rest of the team, he became one of the club’s defining offensive weapons. He scored more than 60 points on five separate occasions, even hitting 75 points in his best offensive season.
