Calgary Flames winger Matthew Tkachuk recorded his 300th National Hockey League point during the first period of his team’s game against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
In typical Tkachuk fashion, his milestone point came off a between-the-legs play. The sequence began when he and Elias Lindholm barreled into the Sharks zone on the forecheck, with the latter managing to dislodge the puck in Tkachuk’s direction.
Tkachuk then slid the puck backward through his own legs toward a wide-open Johnny Gaudreau in the slot. With all due respect to Sharks goaltender Adin Hill, he was never going to stop Gaudreau with this much time and space.
