The Adirondack Thunder (Calgary Flames affiliate) got off to a rocky start in the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs against their rivals, the Manchester Monarchs. The Thunder dropped the first two games by scores of 3-1 and 4-2. They managed to redeem themselves however, taking the third game at home by a score of 3-1.
Friday night, the Thunder’s only goal came off the stick of Ryan Culkin, with assists going to Brett Pollock and Stepan Falkovsky. The game was a close game until the Monarchs sealed the deal with a late empty-net goal to make the final 3-1.
