Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
Today in 1993, Calgary Flames forward Joel Otto played in his 600th career NHL game — an 8-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Never drafted, Otto was signed by the Flames organization to play for their AHL affiliate, the Moncton Golden Flames, in the 1984-85 season and was called up for 17 games with the big club, where he scored four goals and 12 points.
Otto made his name for himself as a solid two-way center who put up solid points every year. That 1992-93 season saw him score 19 goals and 52 points — none of which came during that 8-1 win.
