This week in 1996 (Oct. 5), Jarome Iginla scored his first NHL regular-season goal with the Calgary Flames.
Now, this wasn’t Iggy’s first-ever NHL goal. When his 1995-96 WHL season wrapped up with the Kamloops Blazers, the Flames brought him up to the big club where he played in two playoff games. He scored his first NHL goal, a playoff tally against Chicago, on April 23rd, 1996.
