This week in 1995 (Dec. 1), defenceman Phil Housley became the seventh rear guard in NHL history to score 900 points.
It came during a 8-2 blowout of the Edmonton Oilers in which Housley scored two goals — the second, and last in the game.
His first came at the 6:44 mark of the first period with assists to Sandy McCarthy and Yves Sarault. His second was scored at the 14:23 mark on the powerplay with assists to Michael Nylander and German Titov.
Housley would go on to score another 332 points in the league finishing with 340 goals, 894 assists and 1,232 points.
