Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday! In case you missed last week’s edition, we’re bringing back a much-beloved series across the Nation Network.
So, without further ado…
On this day in 2008, the Calgary Flames traded for defenceman Jim Vandermeer, then of the Philadelphia Flyers, for a 2009 third-round draft pick.
The native of nearby Caroline had already bounced around the league a bit that season. He started with the Chicago Blackhawks playing 26 games scoring 2-7—9 before being traded to Philly for Ben Eager.
With Philadelphia, the journeyman scored 1-5—6 in 28 games, before his trade to the Flames.
