With the Flames and Jets set to take the ice this weekend in Regina, we thought it would be fun to look back at all of the past Heritage Classic games with some tidbits and info regarding the outdoor series.

In 2003 the NHL scheduled it’s first outdoor game (Heritage Classic) between the Edmonton Oilers and Montreal Canadiens and since 2008 the outdoor games have occurred every season and multiple times. The Heritage Classic however, has only occurred four times since the Oilers and Canadiens hit the ice in Edmonton back in 2003.
