Tension-filled game ends in shootout loss for Canada

CALGARY - Nothing like some shenanigans to spice up the Canada/Russia hockey rivalry in the middle of the summer.

The post-game handshake following an exhibition game Wednesday night between the junior clubs had to be stopped by officials after some pushing and shoving involving several players at the Markin MacPhail Centre.

Russia won 3-2 in a shootout when Marat Khayrullin scored on Canada goalie Samuel Montembeault. It was the lone goal in the shootout, and after Khayrullin scored to secure the victory, he skated past the Canada bench, showboating as his clutched the logo on the front of his sweater.
