TORONTO — The simplest way for Glenn Healy to illustrate just how skilled Canada’s forwards were at the 2014 Olympics is to describe what practices looked like for the team’s three goaltenders. Or, as he calls them, shooting victims.
“It took 20 minutes for them to make one save,” said the former NHL goaltender, now a Sportsnet analyst. “A tic-tac-toe goal would be an understatement. It was unbelievable how guys were dancing the puck around and embarrassing the best goaltenders in the world.”
Looking ahead to the World Cup, which begins here on Sept. 17, it is not just Canada that has this level of skill.
