Team Canada taps Connor Ingram for second game of world juniors

TORONTO — Now it’s Connor Ingram’s chance to shine.

Just a day after Carter Hart allowed three goals on the first 15 shots he faced in a 5-3 victory over Russia, Ingram, a member of the Kamloops Blazers, will get the call Tuesday night between the pipes when Canada faces off against Slovakia at the Air Canada Centre on Day 2 of the World Junior Hockey Championship.

Those around Team Canada suggest the plan was to start Ingram all along in order to keep both goaltenders sharp. Still, Canadian head coach Dominique Ducharme would not reveal his goaltending plans when asked about them during his post-game press conference Monday, opting instead to reveal them during his media availability on Tuesday afternoon.
