EDMONTON — Darkness still needed to fall before the Canada Day fireworks display could light up the sky, yet free-agent forward Tanner Glass already had a good feeling that Calgary would be his next hockey home.
After all, Flames general manager Brad Treliving had called his agent that morning.
Glen Gulutzan had called Glass that afternoon.
“We have talked since July 1 at 9 a.m., so I feel like this has been trending this way all along,” Glass said. “I thought we had something going right there … And then there we were, on Aug. 23 or whatever it was, with no deal.
